Morocco is a year-round destination, but the best time depends on where you’re going and what you want to do.
Spring (March–May): the all-rounder
Spring is the single best time to visit Morocco. Days are warm but not scorching, the desert is comfortable, and the Atlas valleys are green. Ideal for Sahara desert tours and Atlas day trips alike.
Summer (June–August): coast and mountains
Inland cities and the desert get very hot. Head for the Atlantic coast (Essaouira stays breezy) or the cool High Atlas. Plan desert visits for sunrise and sunset.
Autumn (September–November): the second sweet spot
Autumn rivals spring. The heat eases, the light is beautiful, and desert nights are crisp and clear — perfect for stargazing.
Winter (December–February): cool days, cold nights
Mild, sunny days in Marrakech and the south, snow on the High Atlas, and cold desert nights (pack warm layers).
